Stop Domestic Violence During The Pandemic
Every minute, reports from around the world are showing domestic violence is increasing dramatically during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Home is not a safe place for everyone – and for victims of domestic violence and their children, more time at home means more time isolated with an abuser.
The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) warned that 6 months of coronavirus lockdowns could lead to 31 million cases of domestic violence.
Victims of domestic violence in the U.S. and around the world need your help today – both during lockdowns and after them – to find safety now and rebuild their lives.
Launched in partnership with UN Women Goodwill Ambassador Nicole Kidman and with support from founding donor, The Allstate Foundation, this Fund will stop abuse and help survivors heal.
We are beyond grateful to The Allstate Foundation for their generous donation of $500,000 to the Domestic Violence Response Fund in support of U.S. based organizations that are working to end domestic violence.
WHAT YOUR GIFT WILL SUPPORT:
A donation at any level will make an extraordinary difference in the life of a survivor!!
Funds raised (less transaction fees) will go directly to two leading organizations working with frontline responders in the U.S. and around the world -- to prevent domestic violence, sexual assault, and other forms of gender-based violence during this crisis – and bring safety, hope and healing to survivors for the long-term. Frontline responders to domestic violence, sexual assault and other forms of violence help:
— Prevent further abuse, by reaching survivors who are sheltering at home with anabuser and connecting them to help
— Support families in domestic violence shelters
— Help survivors heal from trauma and rebuild their emotional and financial livesafter abuse
Even before the COVID-19 crisis, violence against women and girls was already a global pandemic. 1 in 3 women experience sexual or physical violence.
Please join Nicole Kidman, Futures Without Violence, and the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women to stop abuse, reach victims with lifesaving services, and help survivors heal today.
